WILLIAM L. NEWELL

GRASSY -- William Lee "Bud" Newell, 59, of French Village, died Monday, June 27, 1994, at Mineral Area Medical Center in Farmington.

He was born Jan. 15, 1935, at Grassy, son of Grover Cleveland and Esther Lake Sample Newell. He and Virginia Olene James were married Sept. 3, 1954.

Newell was retired from Chrysler Corp.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ricky Newell of French Village; a daughter, Brenda Doggendorf of Arnold; a brother, Samuel Newell of East Alton, Ill.; six sisters, Lillian Teems of Cottage Hills, Ill., Lorene Pardue of Hazelwood, Gladys Stepp of St. Peters, Oma Sylcox of St. Charles, Thelma Bryant of Bethalto, Ill., Alma Lari of Alton, Ill., and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sidney Laxton officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park.
