Robert Dee Dier Sr., 62, of Hendersonville, Tenn., died Sunday, June 12, 1994, at his home.
He was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Hastings, Neb., son of Edward and Hazel Shore Dier. He was a member of the Hastings 1949 state basketball team, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and attended Hastings College.
Dier had worked at Procter & Gamble, transferring to the Cape Girardeau plant in 1969 where he was a manager about five years. He was manager of logistics for Q.S.P. 20 years, a division of Readers Digest.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Meares of Hendersonville; a son, Robert Dier Jr. of Reading, Pa.; three brothers, Ed Dier of El Macero, Calif., Bill Dier of Redding, Calif., Don Dier of Sacramento, Calif.; stepmother, Zelma Dier of Hastings, and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Butler-Volland Funeral Chapel in Hastings, with the Rev. Karl Harman officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery at Hastings.
