SIKESTON -- Lillie Belle Lay, 85, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, June 14, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 22, 1908, in Brady, Texas, daughter of Asa Joseph and Mary Sexton Barker. She and William Samuel Lay were married Oct. 30, 1927, in Okemah, Okla. He died Dec. 30, 1961.
Lay was a member of Parker Memorial Holiness Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include five sons, Billy Lay of Hillsboro, James Lay of Dallas, Texas, Daniel Lay of Piedmont, Jerry Lay of Tacoma, Wash., Kenny Lay of Sikeston; seven daughters, Charlene Farmer and Dorothy McMillen of Adrian, Deloris Bush of Kansas City, Norma Smith of Belton, Glenda Birdsong of Sacramento, Calif., Violet Guthrie of Sikeston, Margaret Lay of Jeffersonville, Ind.; three brothers, Fred Barker of Dallas, Roy Barker of Lindale, Texas, Emmett Barker of Waco, Texas; two sisters, Violet Graham of Temple, Texas, Tina Allen of Georgetown, Texas; 43 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and two sons.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
