SIKESTON -- John Herbert Williamson, 88, formerly of Blodgett and a resident of the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, died Jan. 3, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born Feb. 7, 1904, in Alton, Mo., to the late Ulissia S. and Melissa Sue Garrison Williamson. He was a retired farm laborer, and had worked on the Vernon and Jim Shelton Farm near Blodgett for more than 50 years...

SIKESTON -- John Herbert Williamson, 88, formerly of Blodgett and a resident of the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, died Jan. 3, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Feb. 7, 1904, in Alton, Mo., to the late Ulissia S. and Melissa Sue Garrison Williamson. He was a retired farm laborer, and had worked on the Vernon and Jim Shelton Farm near Blodgett for more than 50 years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blodgett.

He is survived by one sister, Lois Ellis of Placerville, Calif.; and two nephews and one niece who were raised in his home.

He was preceded in death by four sisters.

Friends may call at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Lee Fansler, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Blodgett, officiating.

Burial will be in the New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
