THEBES, Ill. -- Cecil O. Warren, 72, Thebes Route 1, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 4, 1920, near Thebes, son of Willis and Viola Hammonds Warren. He married the former Rosa Lee Phillips, who died Sept. 4, 1981.

Warren was retired from Kosby Gas Co. He was a member of Alexander Freewill Baptist Church near Olive Branch. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Tucker of McClure; two sons, Cecil and Dale Warren of Thebes, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander Freewill Church. The Revs. Ernest Brown and Bob Stone will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, with graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home at Tamms after 5 p.m. today, and at the church from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
