PULASKI, Ill. -- Dorothy Verzene Calvin, 84, of Pulaski, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1993, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 20, 1908, in Pulaski, daughter of Ira E. and Elizabeth Reeves Lackey. She married Lawrence Calvin, who died in 1962.

Calvin was a member of First Christian Church here, its Ladies Aid Society, and former Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include a son, James Calvin of Akron, Ohio; two daughters, Betty McDaniel of Tamms, Charlotte Farris of Ullin; a brother, George Lackey of Anna; two sisters, Eunice Masterson of Michigan, Lois Davis; 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church. The Rev. William Winters will officiate, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms after 4 p.m. Thursday, and at the church after 10 a.m. Friday.
