BLOOMFIELD -- Jesse Walter Bennett, 86, of Rolla, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1993, at Rolla Care Center.

He was born Nov. 16, 1906, at Bloomfield, son of William and Mary Walker Bennett. He and Hallie Howard were married Jan. 14, 1929.

Bennett owned and operated Bennett Wholesale here more than 50 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jesse Bennett of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Anne Edwards of Rolla; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
