PERRYVILLE -- Elliott Lolly Mattingly, 75, of Perryville, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1993, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 11, 1917 in Perryville, son of Frank and Frances Valleroy Mattingly.
He married Katherine Hotop on Feb. 8, 1947. She preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 1989.
Mattingly was a retired postal worker.
Survivors include a son Mart Mattingly, of Perryville; daughters, Gail Herzog of E. Alton, Ill., Joan Smith of Columbia, Mo., and Ann Mattingly of St. Louis; brothers, Gene Mattingly of Bridgeton and Ronald Mattingly of St. Louis; a sister, Maureen Schlattman of Perryville, and 10 grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic; Knights of Columbus, #1263 Council; American Legion Post #133; VFW Post #4282; and Disabled American Veterans.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He received the Purple Heart medal with two oak clusters.
Service will be held at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Sam Magus officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at Young & Sons Chapel between 4 and 9 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday. A K.C. and Parish wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, an American Legion wake will be held at 7 p.m. and a VFW service will be held at 7:30.
