Manning Paschal "Safety" Greer, 87, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1993, in Scottsdale, Ariz. A native of St. Louis, Greer was safety engineer at Marquette Cement Co. 20 years, retiring in July 1963. He also had owned and operated Cape Hardware. He served as mayor of Cape Girardeau, served on the Cape Girardeau Board of Education nine years, and was a past president of Cape Girardeau Jaycees...

Manning Paschal "Safety" Greer, 87, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1993, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

A native of St. Louis, Greer was safety engineer at Marquette Cement Co. 20 years, retiring in July 1963. He also had owned and operated Cape Hardware. He served as mayor of Cape Girardeau, served on the Cape Girardeau Board of Education nine years, and was a past president of Cape Girardeau Jaycees.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen; a son, Paul Greer of Phoenix; four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Paradise Chapel Funeral Home in Phoenix.
