FREDERICKTOWN -- Ivon Gaines, 66, of Fredericktown died Jan. 30, 1993, at his home.

He was born at Hahn, Mo., March 27, 1926, to the late King and Ella Deck Gaines. On May 8, 1954, he married Wilma Yates. She survives of Fredericktown.

He is survived by one son, Gregory Gaines of Fredericktown; two daughters, Anita Welch of Atlanta, Ga., and Lisa Pushchak of Waterford, Calif.; four brothers, Blois Gaines, of Buffalo Creek, Colo., Theodore Gaines of Delta, the Rev. Hueda Gaines of Alton, Ill., and Dempsey Gaines of Edwardsville, Ill.; four sisters, Velma Slaughter of Delta, Veda Baker of Marble Hill, Carna Watkins of Cape Girardeau and Yulanda Dickson of Sioux City, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

He was retired from General Motors, and was a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Trinity Free Will Baptist Church at Bridgeton, Mo., and the Zalma Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Garner and the Rev. Ron Payne.

Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery near Zalma.
