EAST PRAIRIE -- Dorsie Wayne Laughlin, 84, of East Prairie died Jan. 30, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 5, 1908, in Linn Creek, Mo., the son of the late Alonzo Theodore and Maude May Mann Laughlin. He married Irene Morgan on Dec. 24, 1935. She survives.

He had lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a retired parts manager for Richards Equipment Co., in Paducah, Ky. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie, and was a deacon emeritus and had served as a trustee of the church.

Others survivors include two sons, Larry W. Laughlin of East Prairie, and the Rev. James L. Laughlin of Charleston; one sister, Flora Kennerly of Belleville, Ill.; and one grandson.

Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Shelby Chapel, with the Rev. James L. Laughlin, pastor of the First Christian Church of East Prairie, officiating.

Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
