SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Marvin Davis of Sikeston was held Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Geers officiated, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Davis, 80, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1993, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Dec. 26, 1912, in Tecumseh, Okla., son of Abraham Lincoln and Maybelle McNary Davis. He and Naomi Allen were married July 10, 1937, in Harmony, Ark.
Davis was a locksmith and general repairman. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of Scottish Rite Kingsway Chapter 141, member of Disabled American Veterans, and had been maintenance supervisor at the Government Housing Project at LaForge. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jimmy Davis of Crowder, Jerry Davis of Liberty; two daughters, Dorothy Sliger of Dade City, Beatrice Davis of Advance; nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
