MARSHALL MEEKS

BERTRAND -- Marshall Meeks, 57, of Bertrand, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Aug. 8, 1935, at Bertrand, son of Frank and Retta Corene Eastwood Meeks.

Meeks was a welder, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Meeks of Charleston, Mark Meeks of New Madrid; two daughters, Reba Northern of Charleston, Marsha Rowe of St. Louis; four brothers, the Rev. Bill Meeks of Bertrand, Charles Meeks of Sikeston, Donald Meeks of Billingsley, Ala., Bob Meeks of Charleston; five sisters, Deloris Spitler of Memphis, Tenn., Mary Brown and Judy Skinner of Bertrand, Mae McClain of Charleston, Jan Harper of Gary, Ind., and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Revs. Bill Meeks and Jimmy Allen will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
