DOC J. STATLER

PATTON -- Funeral service for Doc Jewell Statler of Patton will be held at 2 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Eddie Long will officiate, with burial in Post Oak Cemetery near Patton.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to service time.

Statler, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1993, at his home.

He was born Dec. 31, 1913, at Patton, son of Jefferson and Safronia Barks Statler. He and Lula V. Cook were married Dec. 15, 1945.

Statler was a timber worker.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jimmy and Tom Statler; a daughter, Doris Myers; a brother, Hobert Statler, all of Patton; three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
