CHAFFEE -- Thomas "Tommy" Hope, 70, of Chaffee, died Thursday, March 18, 1993, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

He was born Nov. 4, 1922, in Johnston City, Ill., son of George and Lisa Dangerfield Hope. He and Ellen Gladys Chapman were married Dec. 24, 1947.

Hope was a quality control employee at HWI in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1985.

Hope was quartermaster of Chaffee VFW Post 3127, former past commander and former past district commander of VFW, Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810, past city councilman and former member of Chaffee Auxiliary Police.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Hope of Festus, a stepson, W.H. Blair of Arnold; a sister, Helen Korpus of Johnston City; four grnadchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Cy Smith will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. An Elks service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
