FLORENCE LOWES

JACKSON -- Florence "Polly" Lowes, 90, of Jackson, died Wednesday, May 5, 1993, at Deal Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 8, 1902, at Uniontown, daughter of Marvin Elliott and Marcella Ann Hoffman Martin. She and Edmund Wilkens were married in March 1924. He died in November 1949. She later married Emory Lowes Aug. 15, 1950. He died Dec. 1, 1966.

Lowes worked 40 years in the fitting department at International Shoe Co. here. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a brother, Leslie Martin of Chicago, and Emma Wills of Jacksonville, Fla.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert Henrichs will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
