SADIE M. HARPER

JACKSON - Sadie M. Harper, 86, died Thursday May 20, 1993 at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born July 12, 1906 at Neelys Landing, the daughter of John Carl Craft and Nora Clingingsmith Craft.

On Jan. 11, 1943, she married Lindell Pete Harper at St. Charles. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25.

Survivors include: two daughters, Kathleen Morgan of Cahokia, Ill., and Janice Allen of Jackson; one brother, John Craft of Sullivan; four sisters, Violet Wiggins and Fern Davis of Jackson, Roxie Kenter of St. Louis, and Lillie Wessling of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, three brothers and two sisters.

She was a Democratic precinct committeewoman, and an Avon representative for over 20 years. She moved to Jackson in 1948 from St. Louis and retired in 1972. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church of Route 4 Jackson.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Don Slatton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bethel Church cemetery.
