PERRYVILLE -- Gilbert R. Evans, 96, of Perryville, died Friday, June 4, 1993, at John J. Pershing Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff. He was born May 1, 1897, in Ste. Genevieve County, son of Richard and Rhoda Adams Evans. He married Reva Rader Feb. 19, 1925. She preceded him in death Feb. 6, 1965...

PERRYVILLE -- Gilbert R. Evans, 96, of Perryville, died Friday, June 4, 1993, at John J. Pershing Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff.

He was born May 1, 1897, in Ste. Genevieve County, son of Richard and Rhoda Adams Evans.

He married Reva Rader Feb. 19, 1925. She preceded him in death Feb. 6, 1965.

Survivors include a son, Robert E. Evans, Spokane, Wash. and a daughter, Delores Wingerter, Perryville; sister, Eunice Moore of Perryville; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, daughter, two sisters, and three brothers.

He was a member of the Saline Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War II.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Young & Sons Chapel in Perryville, with the Rev. Gerold McBride officiating. Burial will be in Saline Baptist Cemetery at Minnith, Mo.

Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.
