Emil P. Nussbaum, 83, Cape Girardeau Route 3, died Monday, June 7, 1993, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

He was born Jan. 17, 1910, near Gordonville, son of Martin and Annie E. Bartels Nussbaum. He and Esther Geiser were married July 22, 1934, in Cape Girardeau.

Nussbaum was a heavy equipment operator at Marquette Cement Co., retiring in 1972. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and its Men's Brotherhood, and a former deacon.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ralph Nussbaum of Gordonville; a daughter, Shirley Medlock of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Herbert Nussbaum of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Pastor James Caughlan will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
