WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- Gene Williams, 66, of Wolf Lake died Wednesday, June 9, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 11, 1926, at Puxico, Mo., the son of the late Arch and Margie Andrews Williams. On Jan. 18, 1946, he married Doris Jean West at Anna. She survives of the home.

He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church near Wolf Lake, where he served as deacon, treasurer and song leader. He was a retired farmer, and owned and operator a seed-cleaning business in Wolf Lake. He also was a gun collector and dealer.

Other survivors include five daughters, Linda Ford of Murray, Ky., Debbie Hileman of Grand Tower, Vicki Reynolds and Lana Livesay, both of Jonesboro, and Connie Wills of Wolf Lake; his step-mother, Ruth Williams of Anna; two sisters, Virginia Otten of Jonesboro and Margaret Rogers of Carbondale; two step-sisters, Jenny Bridgeman and Pat Etherton, both of Anna; two step-brothers, Bill Barnhart of Marshall and Barney Barnhart of Jonesboro; and 16 grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Verlee Eaker will officiate, and burial will be in the Casper Cemetery near Anna.
