THEBES, Ill. -- Funeral service for Huie W. Cox of Thebes will be held at 2 p.m. today at Alexander Free Will Baptist Church. The Revs. Ernest Brown and Dale Billingsley will officiate, with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery. Cox, 78, died Thursday, July 1, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Success, Ark., son of Charles Henry and Gracie May Williamson Cox. He and Juanita Miller were married Oct. 31, 1939.

Cox was a member of Alexander Free Will Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Errol and Howard Cox of Thebes; a daughter, Nancy Kerr of Thebes; two sisters, Lena Greenley of Tamms, Opal Martin of Plano; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
