MARBLE HILL -- William "Pete" Long, 81, of Route 1, Marble Hill died Saturday, July 10, 1993, at Cape LaCroix Nursing Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 22, 1912, at Brownwood, the son of Bird and Gertie Eaker Long. He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son, Ray Long of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Shelby Schulte of Puxico and Kathy Hale and Sylvia Collins, both of Marble Hill; 21 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters and a daughter.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Brownwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Earl Elfrink officiating. Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of the arrangements.
