ROBERT W. HOFFMEISTER

JACKSON -- Robert W. Hoffmeister, 81, of Jackson, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 26, 1912, at Jackson, son of Henry A. and Minnie Voges Hoffmeister. He and Margaret Loos were married Nov. 6, 1937, at Jackson.

Hoffmeister was associated with Loos and Hoffmeister Construction Co. 37 years, where he was a partner and had been president. He retired in 1980.

He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ and its Brotherhood organization, and served on the church council several years. He was a member of Cape County Stroke Support Group, and American Legion Post 158 at Jackson. Hoffmeister served in the U.S. Army from May 1943-January 1946.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Ben Hoffmeister of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Miriam Burge of Kirkwood and Martha Sievers of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
