BUFFORD BENNETT

MARBLE HILL -- Bufford Bennett, 81, of Marble Hill died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 30, 1911, the son of Mason Alexander and Cora Jane Fox Bennett. On Jan. 5, 1933, he married Josie Rosebud Abernathy, who preceded him in death July 5, 1989.

He also was preceded in death by three sons and two brothers. He was a member of Calvin Baptist Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include three sons, Lane Bennett of LaPeer, Mich., Paul Bennett of St. Charles and Perry Bennett of Glen Allen; two brothers, Earl Bennett of Bernie and Otis Bennett of East Prairie; two sisters, Mildred George of Sikeston and Louise Ellis of Bernie; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5:30 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Liley Chapel. The Rev. Gene Robbins will officiate, and burial will be in McGee Chapel Cemetery in Glen Allen.
