VIRGIL ELVIN PIXLEY

DELTA -- Virgil Elvin Pixley, 82, of Delta died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 20, 1911, at Advance, the son of George and Ida Masters Pixley. In 1931, he married Anna Redman, who preceded him in death April 13, 1962. On July 7, 1963, he married Pauline Ferrell, who survives of the home.

He was a member of the Arbor General Baptist Church and the Whitewater Masonic Lodge #417.

Other survivors include three daughters, Patsy Ann Strutman of Lake of St. Louis, Virginia "Booty" Young of Granite City, Ill., and Janet Jackson of Delta; a brother, Woodrow Pixley of Cuba; two sisters, Alma Tropt of Advance and Jeanette Voss of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, where funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Bob Bradford and the Rev. Arvil Huffman will officiate, and burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery in Advance. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
