CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for James H. Cossey of Charleston will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at McMikle Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Bill Meeks and Glenn Rogers will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.

Cossey, 56, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 9, 1938, in Mississippi County, son of Thomas Hobert and Edith Adele Hicks Cossey. He and Joan McDermott were married Sept. 6, 1970.

He was employed by Ledbetter Farms, and was a member of Missouri National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jim Cossey of Wyatt, Tommy Cossey of Montgomery, Ala., Mickey Cossey of Kellyton, Ala.; three daughters, Michelle Livingston of Goodwater, Ala., Theresa Baker of Ft. Payne, Ala., Tina Fincher of Kellyton, and his mother of Wyatt.

He is also survived by two stepsons, Steve Brown of Duncan, Ariz., Sam Brown of Sikeston; four stepdaughters, Debbie Sharp of Bertrand, Donna Husketh of Charleston, Karen Myers of East Prairie, Shannon Rackely of Wyatt; three brothers, Clifton and Charles Cossey of Wyatt, Perry Cossey of Columbus, Ohio; four sisters, Jackuelyn Hack of LaCenter, Ky., Shirley James of Fenton, Linda Graham of Charleston, Mary Peters of Wyatt; 16 grandchildren, and 14 stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a granddaughter.
