ALTENBURG -- Elmer C. Schuessler, 83, of Altenburg, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1993, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 19, 1910, at Altenburg, son of Charles and Agnes Hellwege Schuessler. She married Norma Steffens, Nov. 28, 1937. She died Sept. 18, 1961...

ALTENBURG -- Elmer C. Schuessler, 83, of Altenburg, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1993, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 19, 1910, at Altenburg, son of Charles and Agnes Hellwege Schuessler.

She married Norma Steffens, Nov. 28, 1937. She died Sept. 18, 1961.

He then married Clara Schuessler, July 31, 1965.

Schuessler worked as a house painter and a bus driver.

He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Earl Schuessler of Kaiser, Mo.; a step-son, Lloyd Schuessler of St. Louis; two step-daughters, Thelma Steffens of Frohna, Mo., Irene Barber of Jackson; four sisters, WIlma Lohrke of the state of Minnesota, Myrtle Perrin of Joplin, Mo., Evelyn Roth of Frohna, Earline Leimbach of Rena, Okla.; two grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; 11 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a wife and two brothers.

Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today and from 6:30-8 a.m. Tuesday at the Young and Sons East Perry Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Charles Weber officiating.

Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
