SIKESTON -- John T. Cooper, 81, of Sikeston, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born April 29, 1912, in Morley, son of Andrew and Ora Sanders Cooper. He and Edith Mae Bailey were married Sept. 3, 1933, at Gravel Ridge.

Cooper was a farmer and formerly worked at Brown Shoe Co. in Charleston. He was a contract mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service from 1963-83.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Floyd Cooper of Muncie, Ind., Gary Cooper of Covington, Tenn., Jerry Cooper of Arvada, Colo.; a daughter, Barbara Parton of Burton, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church. The Rev. Tom Geers will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel after 5 p.m. today, and at the church Saturday after 11 a.m.
