LENA MARGUERITE WARREN

ADVANCE -- Lena Marguerite Warren, 65, of Granite City, Ill., formerly of McGee, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1993, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born March 13, 1928, at McGee, daughter of Herman and Dora Mae Peters Payne.

She married Charles L. Warren, Oct. 20, 1947.

Warren worked as a cook at Granite City High School.

She was a member of the General Baptist Church-Johnson Road in Granite City.

Survivors include her husband, two sons, Charles Warren and Monte Warren, both of Granite City; a daughter, Janis Fay Wolfe of Granite City; six brothers, Eugene Payne of Advance, Tommy Payne of Puxico, Mo., Richard Payne of Virginia Beach, Va., Odell Payne of Jefferson, Texas, Jerry Payne of Toluca Lake, Calif., Roger Payne of Russellville, Ala.; two sisters, Louise Springman of Lowndes, Mo., Gertie Ebersohl of DeSoto, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from noon until the time of the funeral Saturday at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Morgan Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Gene Lineberry officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Hope McGee Cemetery in McGee.
