RUTH M. SPENCER

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Ruth M. Spencer, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1992, at the Meredian Manor in Mounds.

She was born Nov. 12, 1907, in St. Louis, the daughter of Charles Boyd and Anna Patterson Boyd.

She was a past record of the Royal Neighbors and member of the Cairo Business and Professional Women's group. She was a retired accountant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Spencer, on Oct. 27, 1946. She was also preceded in death by a grandson.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. "Jerry" Spencer and Shelby Spencer of Mounds; one daughter, Ruth Spencer of Cobden; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Tom Ellison officiating. Burial will follow at the Cairo City Cemetery at Villa Ridge.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
