CHARLESTON -- Edith Burk, 79, of Charleston, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1992, at Charleston Manor.

She was born Feb. 2, 1912, in Corning, Ark., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Perry. She and J.E. Burk were married Nov. 25, 1933.

Burk was a retired nurse's aide at Charleston Manor, and member of Lulu Baptist Church at Senath.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Joe Burk of Anna, Ill., Coy Burk of Sioux Falls, S.D., A.P. Burk of St. Louis; two daughters, Iva Norris of St. Charles, Glita Murray of Memphis, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Rev. Bill Meeks will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. today.
