TILSIT -- Bertha Burgfeld, 97, of Tilsit, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1992, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 24, 1894, near Pocahontas, Mo., daughter of Herman and Emma Gerth Koenig.

She married Henry F. Burgfeld June 28, 1939. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1975.

Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.

She was member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit.

Burgfeld and her husband operated a farm at Tilsit several years. She has lived at The Lutheran Home 14 years.

Service will be held at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Del Crockett officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
