Dorothy Rutherford, 64, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Grassy, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born May 25, 1927 at Scopus, daughter of Robert L. and Velma Brown Haynes.

She married Bill Rutherford on Dec. 22, 1951. He survives of the home.

Also surviving are six sons, Billy Earl Rutherford, Grassy, Don R. Rutherford, Black Rock, Ark., Darrol Gene Rutherford, Pacific, Willie Robert Rutherford, Moberly, Rodney Lee Rutherford Sr., Marble Hill, and Douglas Edward Rutherford, Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sue May of Grassy and Roberta Ann Rutherford, Cape Girardeau; one sister, Carol Ann Meyer, Wenatchee, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

One brother and two great-grandchildren preceded her in death.

She worked at the Jackson shoe factory and she was a member of the Haynes Chapel Methodist Church near Millersville.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Naamon Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Haynes Chapel Cemetery.
