Irene Daugherty Ward Couch, of Sikeston, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1992 at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center. She was 82.

A son, Richard Couch of Cape Girardeau, survives.

She was born April 15, 1909 in Matthews to the late Albert Lee and Jettie Ann Stoker Daugherty.

She was a member of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston.

On March 1, 1944, she married Clyde Couch, who died Dec. 27, 1982. A son also preceded her in death.

Surviving also are daughters Marilyn Ward Green of Ames, Iowa and Ester Lee McCready of Virden, Ill; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the Crews-Welsh-Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

The Rev. Carl Addison, pastor of the Tanner Street Church of God, will officiate.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
