SIKESTON -- Robert R. "Bob" Hale, 63, of 629 North West Street, Sikeston died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1992, at Hot Springs, Ark. from an apparent heart attack.

He was born May 31, 1929, in Pontiac Mich., the son of the late Joe W. and Hazel Williams Hale.

Since 1958, he owned and operated Hale Auction Co. in Sikeston, where he also started Mid-South Tractor Parts in Sikeston in 1965. He also raised livestock, farmed and operated Bob Hale's Pig Racing Stables a nationwide organization. He was a charter member of an organization, IWOSS, that was formed to promote pig racing.

He also a was a member of the National Auctioneers Association, the Sikeston Elks Lodge, the Sikeston Eagles Lodge, and the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Catrino of Sikeston and Robyn Goodin of Charleston; a brother, Dave Hale of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Hale, in 1982.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Jim Matthews will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
