DELTA -- William Vader Sparkman, 84, of Delta, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 9, 1907, at Sturdivant, son of Losson and Emma Strong Sparkman. He and Mildred Della Speer were married Aug. 1, 1927, at Bloomfield.

Sparkman was a truck driver, and also drove a bus for Delta Public Schools several years. He was a member of Arbor General Baptist Church, and Delta Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John L. Sparkman of Chaffee; two daughters, Virginia Loucks of Chaffee, Nelda Kinder of Delta; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a half sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Rev. Bob Bradford will officiate, with burial in Brownwood Cemetery at Brownwood.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
