ADVANCE -- The Rev. Henry James Masters, 83, of Advance, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 28, 1908, at Yount, son of William Andrew and Mamie Conrad Masters. He and Dorothy Mosier were married Dec. 23, 1945, in Jonesboro, Ark.

Masters was a Pentecostal minister more than 50 years, and had also farmed.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Harold Masters of Advance, Rodney Absheer of St. Charles, Staff Sgt. Ernie Absheer of Columbia; four daughters, Colleen Jordan of Huntsville, Ala., Patty McClure of Wentzville, Joan Masters of Florida, Henrietta Boyd of Warrenton; three brothers, Guy Masters of Rochester, Mich., Edwin Masters of Pontiac, Mich., Paul Masters of Advance; two sisters, Edith Ridings of Cape Girardeau, Ruth Seabaugh of Advance; 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two infant sons and four brothers.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Ronnie Mosier and Virgil Bunch will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
