PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. John J. Bagen, 78, of Perryville, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1992, at Perry County Hospital.

He was born Nov. 1, 1913, in Chicago, son of John J. and Barbara L. Ryan Bagen.

Bagen was ordained June 4, 1939, at St. Mary's Seminary here. He served at major seminaries in the Midwest, and at DePaul University in Chicago.

Survivors include a sister, Betty Galey of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's of the Barrens. The Very Rev. John Gagnepain will officiate, with burial in Vincentian Community Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church after 5 p.m. today. A wake service will be held at 7:30.

Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
