Helen R. Meyer, 90, of Cape Girardeau died at the Lutheran Home Thursday, Jan. 30, 1992.
She was born Jan. 7, 1902 at Steeleville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Evans.
She married R.F. Peg Meyer on Jan. 7, 1925 at Steeleville. He survives at the Lutheran Home.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Junior Ladies Aid.
She taught at Bell City, Oran and Wolf Lake.
She attended Southeast Missouri State University from 1921 to 1923 and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1924. She was a member of Tri Delta Sorority at the University of Missouri.
She helped organize the Tri Delta sorority on the Southeast campus. She started the alumni association of the sorority here and was its first president.
Years ago, she and her husband operated the Cape store for the St. Louis Band Instrument Company at 630 Broadway for 13 years.
She had been a resident of the Lutheran Home for 16 years.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel with the Rev. David Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
