GLEN ALLEN -- Virgil Loughary, 79, of Glen Allen, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1992, at Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill.

He was born March 25, 1912, in Hiram, son of Ezekiel and Georgia Sumpter Loughary.

On May 25, 1946, he married Flossie Morlan, who preceded him in death Aug. 17, 1966. On July 16, 1975, he married Fern Eaker Kirkpatrick.

He was a retired farmer and a member of McGee Chapel near Glen Allen.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, Raymond E. James of Arnold, Odell James of Sturdivant, Donald James of Dexter, Roger Loughary of Marble Hill, Russell Loughary of St. Louis, Gary Loughary of Dowagiac, Mich.; four stepsons, Edward James of Warrenton, Paul James of Arnold, Eugene Kirkpatrick of Bell Gardens, Calif., William Kirkpatrick of Long Beach, Calif.; six stepdaughters, Mildred Borders of Zalma, Dorothy Kirkman of Dexter, Florence Meyers of Patton, Bessie Welker of Marble Hill, Virginia Dyle of Bell Gardens, Beatrice Riley of Kerns, Utah; a sister, Bertha Hartesty of Greenbriar; 84 grandchildren, and 101 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, two stepsons, a daughter, four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Clinton Massa and Charley Hovis officiating. Burial will be in Balch Chapel Cemetery near Zalma.
