ADVANCE -- Bill Sherman, 61, of Advance died Saturday Feb. 8, 1992 at his home. He was born Sept. 19, 1930 at Stamps, Ark., son of the late William Sherman and Fern Bess Francis, who survives. ADVANCE -- Bill Sherman, 61, of Advance died Saturday Feb. 8, 1992 at his home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1930 at Stamps, Ark., son of the late William Sherman and Fern Bess Francis, who survives.

He owned and operated an excavating service.

On Sept. 30, 1950, he married Naideney Phelps at Pocahantas, Ark. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Brad Sherman, Iowa City, Iowa, Matt Sherman, Advance; one daughter Cindy Corpse, Independence, Mo.; one brother Harold Charles Sherman, Advance; and nine grandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with the Rev. Brad Sherman and the Rev. Clinton Woodfin officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park cemetery in Advance.

Friends may call Monday at the funeral home from 5:30-8 p.m.
