ANNA, Ill. -- Harold Vance "Bud" Baker, 68, of Anna, formerly of Tamms, died Tuesday, March 17, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was born June 13, 1923, at Dongola, son of Frank and Geneva Hinkle Baker. Baker was a linotype operator 35 years with Memphis Publishing Co. He was a member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post here, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II...

ANNA, Ill. -- Harold Vance "Bud" Baker, 68, of Anna, formerly of Tamms, died Tuesday, March 17, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was born June 13, 1923, at Dongola, son of Frank and Geneva Hinkle Baker.

Baker was a linotype operator 35 years with Memphis Publishing Co. He was a member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post here, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; a son, John Baker of Anna; a daughter, Linda Sullivan of Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers, Richard "Dick" Baker of Anna, Paul "Mickey" Baker of Lynchburg, Va.; a sister, Bonnie Mangum of Anna, and two grandsons.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Chapel in Tamms, with the Rev. Billy Don Heady officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at Dongola, with military rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
