SIKESTON -- Edwin Carr Willis, 74, of Sikeston, died Friday, April 17, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born July 2, 1917, in Kentwood, La., son of Edwin Clarence and Sadie Carr Willis. He and Betty Jean Halvorson were married Dec. 22, 1943, in South Dakota.

Willis was employed 47 years at Ozburn-Abston Inc. of Missouri and Arkansas, and had served as president and board member. He was a founder of Temple Baptist Church in 1956, and was a major in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He was a member of Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church, and had served as an adult Sunday School teacher, deacon and elder. He had also been commander of the Civil Air Patrol unit in Sikeston.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, E.G. Willis of Medford, N.Y., Stephen Willis of St. Louis; a daughter, Barbara Bayer of Festus; a brother, John Willis of Irving, Texas; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hunter Memorial Church. The Rev. Marvin Butrum will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today, and at the church Monday from 9-11 a.m.
