JUANITA MATHIS

CHARLESTON -- Juanita Mathis, 88, of Charleston died Wednesday, April 15, 1992, at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood, Ill.

She was born May 22, 1903 in Tennessee, the daughter of Andy and Puller Churchwell.

She was a member of Mercy Baptist Church, the choir, and the Mississippi County Community Churches organization.

In 1919, she married Ed Dickerson in Arkansas. He preceded her in death.

On Oct. 26, 1969, she married Matthew Mathis. He preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1983.

She is survived by one sister, Elsie Smith, Maywood, Ill.; one niece and one nephew.

Friends may call Sunday from 6-7 p.m. at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Mercy Baptist Church with the Rev. J.L. Posey officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
