MAYME B. KINDER

JACKSON -- Mayme B. Kinder, 85, of Jackson, died Monday, April 27, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born March 11, 1907, at Swinton, daughter of William Lawson and Dora Napier Bess. She married Roy Jack Kinder Aug. 21, 1932, at Benton. He died Feb. 14, 1984.

Kinder was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, and taught school at Millersville 10 years. She was a salesclerk at Fulenwider Drug Store, retiring in 1972. She later worked three years at Brockett's Pharmacy.

She was a member of United Methodist Women more than 50 years and member of Esther Circle at New McKendree United Methodist Church. Kinder was a charter member of West Jackson Extension Club.

Survivors include a son, Gene Kinder of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Chester and Jack Bess of Dexter, Waldo Bess of Mountain Home, Ark.; two sisters, Bertha Bremner of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Dorothy Deevers of Paris, Tenn.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Otto Steinhaus will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
