A. LOUIS MEISENHEIMER

A. Louis Meisenheimer, 54, of Olympia Fields, Ill., died Monday, May 18, 1992, at Bernard Mitchell Hospital in Chicago.

He was born May 24, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, son of Albert L. and Pat Williams Meisenheimer. He and Penelope "Penny" Holmes were married June 24, 1961, in Cape Girardeau.

Meisenheimer was a 1955 graduate of Central High School, where he played basketball and football, and was a member of the state championship basketball team of 1954.

He attended Southeast Missouri State University, where he played football and was a founder of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity. He received a graduate degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1960, and was selected to the Little All AMerican Football Team there. He returned to Southeast Missouri State in 1965 and received a bachelor of science degree in geology.

Meisenheimer became associated with Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America in 1962. He served as supervisor of safety and then became director of security for the parent company Med Con Corp. in Lombard, Ill.

He was a member of Faith United Protestant Church in Park Forest, Ill., was on the board of directors of United Way of Homewood-Flossmoor, Olympia Fields. He was a former member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bradley Meisenheimer of Chicago, Brian Meisenheimer of St. Louis; his mother of Cape Girardeau; a brother, John Meisenheimer of Cape Girardeau, and a half sister, Ruth Haag of Mission Viejo, Calif.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate, with entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call Sunday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to service time.
