MATTHEWS -- Alice O. Hairston, 59, of Matthews, died Thursday, June 4, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Damascus, Ark., daughter of Lonnie V. and Cecilia C. Davis Mason. She married Thomas B. Hairston Feb. 14, 1953, at Canalou.

Hairston was a member of Matthews Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Victor Hairston of Sikeston, Mark Hairston of New Madrid; a daughter, Linda Phillips of Matthews; three brothers, Lonnie and Ferrell Mason of Solgohachia, Ark., Quinton Mason of Plumerville, Ark.; three sisters, Mary Anderson of Center Ridge, Ark., Lena Tolbertson of Oceanside, Calif., Wilma Gambill of Roseburg, Ore., and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Shelton Peeler will officiate, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
