MARBLE HILL -- Clarence L. Johnson, 87, of Marble Hill, died Saturday, June 6, 1992, at Bond Nursing Care Center at Marble Hill.

He was born at Gravelton on Oct. 16, 1904, the son of John and Belle Johnson.

On Oct. 30, 1924, he married Beulah Whitner. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are one son, Ivan Johnson of Marble Hill; one sister, Esther Rickman of Alton, Ill.; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.

He owned and operated the Johnson Handle Manufacturing Co. in Marble Hill until his retirement.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Gravelton.

Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, and from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the church with the Rev. Kirk Schmeisser officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
