Eleanor E. Horrocks, 88, of Joplin, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 1992, at St. John's Medical Center in Joplin.

She was born Dec. 25, 1903, in Jackson.

She was a graduate of St. Luke's Nursing School in St. Louis and was a member of the Maple Avenue United Methodist Church of Cape Girardeau.

She married Col. Gilles E. Horrocks July 31, 1929, in St. Louis. He died Dec. 12, 1959.

Survivors are a niece, Barbara Fix, Joplin; and two nephews, Dr. Richard Kent Taylor, Joplin, and Darrell S. Taylor, Fort Smith, Ark.

Service will be at 7 tonight at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary Chapel in Joplin with the Rev. Larry Fix officiating.

A grave-side service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Holiday Inn in Cape Girardeau.
