Virginia L. Farrar, 79, of Westville, Ill., died Monday, July 6, 1992, at United Samaritan Medical Center-Logan Campus in Danville, Ill. She was formerly of Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 30, 1913, in Marion, Ill., daughter of Charles and Flora Harvell Shavnore. She married Palmer V. Farrar June 20, 1973, at Benton. He died Jan. 20, 1985. Virginia L. Farrar, 79, of Westville, Ill., died Monday, July 6, 1992, at United Samaritan Medical Center-Logan Campus in Danville, Ill. She was formerly of Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 30, 1913, in Marion, Ill., daughter of Charles and Flora Harvell Shavnore. She married Palmer V. Farrar June 20, 1973, at Benton. He died Jan. 20, 1985. She was a former member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Floyd Benson of Scott City; four daughters, Janet Blankenship of Westville, Fay Holland Niemann of Athens, Ala., Mae Long of Modesto, Calif., Kay Holland Short of Farmington; a sister, Geneva Carmack of Denver, Colo.; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
